Brigham Young once said, “Why should we worry about what others think of us, do we have more confidence in their opinions than we do our own?” Powerful and meaningful words.

If u want to fall in love with yourself, and live with all that you deserve, you must run your own race. It does not matter what other people say about you. What is important is what you say to yourself. Do not be concerned with the judgement of others as long as you know what you are doing is correct. You can do whatever you want to do as long as it is right according to your conscience and heart. Decide on what you think and feel is good and then stick to it.

Do not measure your self-worth against other people’s networth. As a wise sage once mentioned, “Every second you spend on someone else’s dreams, you take time away from your own.

So many times, we worry about what others will think. In a world that places high value on conformity, it can sometimes feel daunting to embrace uniqueness.

Etch these words in your memory — “You are always unique just like everyone else.”

The more you can tap into your most authentic you, the more you love yourself and can thereby experience your true magic. Your dreams, your joys, your hopes, your aspirations, your experiences, your sufferings, your fingerprints, your beliefs, your hobbies, your creativity, your genetics and your sense of humor are all unique to you.

Even siblings living in the same house have different blue prints of life. Respect your own life as well as those of others around you. Tune into your unique qualities to know where you really shine. A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it, it only blooms. Appreciate who you are, the way you are.

Think of a lay man on a wheelchair who despairs at the sight of healthy pair of legs walking past him. However, the man who can walk, sighs at another swiftly passing him on a scooter; the man with a scooter again is jealous of the motorcar owner and the latter pines away at the thought of having to drive through the horrible traffic.

To reach a quiet and a peaceful harbor of selflove you have to disengage yourself from competence with other people and savoring the joy of your own specialness and stand out like a lighthouse in the sea of life.

Take complete control of your life. Do the things you love to do with passion. Reclaim the joy of waking up every morning full of energy and exhilaration. Build a strength of character, develop mental toughness and live with courage. Be your own competitor and decide to do the things you know you should be doing rather than walking the path of least resistance. Start to fight the gravitational forces of your weaker impulses. Push yourself. In a matter of just few months you will rise like a rocket above the force of gravity into the realm of the heavens.

Let me share a lovely story with you, called “Cracked Pot.”

Rahul, was a water bearer who had two large pots. One hung on each end of a pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, and while the other pot was perfect.

At the end of the long walk from the stream to his house, the cracked pot always arrived only half full. For two years this went on daily.

The perfect pot was proud of itself. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it was unable to do what it had been made to do.

Shamefully, the pot spoke to Rahul one day. “I am ashamed of myself and I am sorry.”

“Why?” asked Rahul. “What are you ashamed of?”

“For the past two years I have been unable to deliver full load of water because this crack in my side causes water to leak. Because of my imperfection, you have to do all of this work, and you don’t get full value from your efforts,” the pot said.

Hearing this, Rahul said, “As we return to the house today, I want you to notice the beautiful flowers along the path.”

As they went up the hill, the old cracked pot took notice of the beautiful flowers on the side of the path. But at the end of the trail, it still felt the old shame because it had leaked out half its load.

Rahul said to the pot, “Did you not notice that the flowers were growing only on your side of the path, and not on the other pot’s side? That’s because I have always known about your crack that you call an imperfection. I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we’ve walked back from the stream, you’ve watered them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate my house. Without you being just the way you are, I would not have these beautiful flowers.”

Each of us has flaws. We’re all cracked pots. But this is what makes us Unique. This is what makes us who we are — a beautiful being. The day you accept yourself the way you are, you love yourself more and fill your life and the lives of other around you with so much happiness and joy.
